KIRO 7 team wins 8th Annual Windermere Media Cup

It took seven years, but KIRO 7 edged out a win to take home the trophy in Tuesday’s 8th Annual Windermere Media Cup.

Chopper 7 went above to capture the KIRO 7 team hard at work on the water. Chief meteorologist Morgan Palmer, meteorologist Claire Anderson and morning reporter Rachel Calderon helped row. The photo finish shows KIRO 7 beating KOMO and other news stations that raced.

The event was put on to help support local charities, and KIRO 7’s charity of choice was IGNITE (Inspiring Girls Now in Technology Education). The charity’s mission is to create opportunities to spark girls’ excitement about technology careers and inspire them to new possibilities.
